A National Survey
of Adult Basic Education and Training

Probably the most definitive and detailed research into ABET in South Africa available, The Survey of ABET in South Africa consists of nine detailed provincial reports on ABET, as well as a synthesis of these reports.

The Survey includes detailed information on demographics, curriculum, materials, assessment, practitioners and funding for each province. The synthesis includes an overview of the government's Multi-Year Implementation Plan for ABET and other visions of ABET and literacy.

This is an essential reference resource for policy makers, researchers and practitioners alike. Produced by the Centre for Adult Education (Pietermaritzburg) and the Centre for Adult and Community Education (Durban) of the University of Natal in 1998/1999, the ten reports are also available on CD ROM.

To view the reports you need access to Adobe Acrobat Reader version 3 or 4.
